Yes, I realize that title is ominous, because it hasn't even been a month yet into the year, but I'm getting a question frequently that I thought I would address: "How do you continue to run a small business when you just had a baby?" (Let's pause here and admire this sweet face before we move on.. )
Okay, I can take a pause for now.
My answer is simple: I'm not running it very effectively most days, but when I have the energy and the bandwidth, I am chasing this dream down with everything I have. Also- a LOT of late nights up feeding helps me to stay awake and catch up on editing on my phone in the dark. #newbornproblems
When it comes to being a maker, you find the spaces in your day to create- whether it's 5 minutes here, or 10 minutes there, at gymnastics with your 5 year old, or in the late hours of the night. Creating feels good, and it helps so much with the anxiety build up from the day.
And this brings me to the other exciting part of this post: I want to teach YOU crochet. I want to pass on this incredible coping skill that has helped my mental health so much, particularly in this crazy phase that I am currently in. So, I leaned into it, and created my very first beginner's course! Meant for those of you who have wanted to learn crochet but don't want to go searching down the rabbit hole of a bunch of different videos and tips, who want something more comprehensive and at your finger tips, and also want a community around you for asking questions when you get stuck: this is the place for you!
This new course will release Feb 1, it will be self guided and at your own pace, so that people (like me) with busy lives and lots of things pulling for your attention don't have to be rushed.
Are you excited?? This is the biggest leap I've taken by myself in awhile, and I gotta say that I am stoked out of my mind about it. To gather a bunch of makers (and mamas) in one space, and learn together and be a source of support in the midst of life's insane ups and downs.. there's nothing better than that!
So, go ahead and grab your phone, mark your calendars, set an alarm, and get ready to jump in on Feb. 1!
